<br />G-1 <br />APPENDIX G <br /> <br />SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION - CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />The following information concerning the City of San Leandro and surrounding areas is <br />included only for the purpose of supplying general information regarding the community. The <br />2014 Bonds are not a debt of the City, the County, the State or any of its political subdivisions, <br />and neither the City, the County, the State nor any of its political subdivisions is liable therefor. <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />The City of San Leandro (the “City”) encompasses 15.5 square miles located in central <br />Alameda County (the “County”), about 20 miles southeast of San Francisco and 35 miles north <br />of San Jose. The City is a well diversified community with residential, commercial, and <br />industrial development within the City. The industrial makeup of the City has been changing, <br />moving away from its traditional manufacturing base toward more of an emphasis on services <br />and warehousing industries. <br /> <br />The median temperatures for January and July are 48.6 degrees Fahrenheit and 63.1 <br />degrees Fahrenheit respectively. Rainfall averages 18.69 inches per year. <br /> <br />Municipal Government <br /> <br />Incorporated in 1872, the City is a charter city organized under a Mayor, Council, City <br />Manager form of government. The City Council consists of six Members from six districts and a <br />Mayor. The Mayor and Councilmembers are nominated by district and elected at large. Each <br />may serve a maximum of two consecutive four year terms. <br /> <br />The City Council appoints the City Manager, who is the City’s Chief Administrative <br />Officer. The City Manager directs and supervises all City departments, prepares and <br />administers the annual City budget, and plans and implements key projects. <br />
