Gregory <br />City Councilmember, District I <br />City of San Leandro <br />835 East 14th Street <br />San Leandro, CA 94577 <br />RE: Application for Partnership Planning for Sustainable Transportation Grant for the <br />San Leandro Creek Multi -Use Greenway Trail <br />Dear Councilmember Gregory, <br />On behalf of the East Bay Regional Park District, I am very pleased to offer my enthusiastic support for <br />the Partnership Planning for Sustainable Transportation Grant for the proposed San Leandro Creek <br />Multi -Use Park Greenway Trail. <br />The San Leandro Creek is an amazing and underutilized right-of-way that, when improved as a restored <br />creek and trail can dramatically improve the quality of life for residents and provide valuable access to <br />spaces of nature and access for mobility. The creek connects two East Bay Regional Parks: Martin <br />Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline, near the Oakland Airport, and Lake Chabot Regional Park in the <br />foothills above San Leandro and Oakland.
