City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: March 16, 2015 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:15-150 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Lianne Marshall <br />Assistant City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Approving an Agreement with Pelton Plaza Owners in the <br />Amount of $37,974 for a Broadband Expansion Agreement; Approving an <br />Agreement with SmartWAVE Technologies in the Amount of $30,416 for the <br />Wireless Network System; and Appropriating Funding in the Amount of <br />$68,390 from the General Fund Economic Uncertainty Reserves for a <br />Broadband Expansion to the Property at Pelton Plaza and Installation of a <br />Free, Public Wireless Network in Downtown San Leandro <br />WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and SmartWAVE <br />Technologies, a copy of which is attached, has been presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and Pelton Plaza owners, <br />a copy of which is attached, has been presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreements; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager also recommends that General Fund economic <br />uncertainty reserves should be used for the design and installation of a Free, Public Wireless <br />Network in Downtown San Leandro. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said agreements with SmartWAVE Technologies in the amount of $30,416.00 and <br />Pelton Plaza in the amount of $37,974.00 are hereby approved and execution by the City <br />Manager is hereby authorized; and <br />That an appropriation of funds in the total amount of $68,390.00 from General Fund <br />economic uncertainty reserves to the Business Development Budget (Account 010-41-003) <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 3/11/2015
