EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> WPCP CLARIFIER NO. 2 ODOR CONTROL <br /> Kennedy/Jenks will perform the following tasks: <br /> Task 1: Evaluate Alternatives for Collecting and Treating the Foul Air from Under the <br /> Effluent Launder Covers. <br /> Kennedy/Jenks will perform the following work as part of this task: <br /> 1. Prepare protocol and provide training in the use of sampling equipment for air sampling by <br /> City staff. Provide sampling equipment for this task. <br /> 2. Estimate the volume of foul air to be removed. <br /> 3. Evaluate the following three identified foul air collection and treatment alternatives: <br /> • Install a new blower and duct work to bring the foul air to the existing soil bed scrubber <br /> • Install a new blower and new soil bed scrubber or new packaged scrubber <br /> • Install ductwork so that the existing FFR blowers and soil bed scrubber can be used. <br /> 4. Review existing FFR scrubber system use to determine current operation parameters. <br /> 5. Review air sampling testing results and comment on type and quantity of odor causing <br /> agents. Test results will be supplied by City. <br /> 6. Develop a conceptual design and schematic diagram for each identified collection and <br /> treatment alternative. <br /> 7. Identify non-economic advantages and disadvantages of each identified alternative <br /> 8. Develop estimates of probable construction and operation costs for each identified <br /> alternative based on the developed conceptual designs. <br /> 9. Perform a relative evaluation of the identified alternatives considering the developed cost <br /> estimates and the non-economic advantages and disadvantages of each identified <br /> alternative. <br /> 10. Develop a recommendation of which identified alternative to pursue. <br /> 11. Summarize the information and recommendations developed in this Task in a Technical <br /> Memorandum. <br /> EXHIBIT A Page 1 of 3 <br /> 6/12/95 WPCP Clarifier No.2 Odor Control <br />
