City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: October 5, 2015 <br />Resolution - Council <br />File Number: 15-555 Agenda Section: CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY: Cynthia Battenberg <br />Community Development Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW: David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE: RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Consulting Services <br />Agreement with The Exploratorium for the Design and Installation of an <br />Interactive Exhibit in Joaquin Plaza (authorizes expenditure of $235,000 in <br />grant funds from the California Department of Housing and Community <br />Development for the installation of the exhibit) <br />WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Housing and Community <br />Development awarded the City of San Leandro a Parks Program Grant in the amount of <br />$1,376,600; and <br />WHEREAS, per the City's Standard Agreement with the State of California Department <br />of Housing and Community Development, the City is authorized to use its grant award to <br />create a science -based innovative and interactive art exhibit at Joaquin Plaza in downtown <br />San Leandro; and <br />WHEREAS, a draft agreement between the City of San Leandro and The <br />Exploratorium to design, construct and commission the art exhibit is presented to this City <br />Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the expenditure of $235,000 in grant funds received from the State of California <br />Department of Housing and Community Development is authorized from Fiscal Year 2015-16 <br />Account Number 122-38-362; and <br />That said agreement substantially in the form presented is hereby approved and execution by <br />City of San Leandro Page 1 Printed on 9/29/2015 <br />
