It is also environmentally friendly because pollution from vehicle emissions is <br />reduced due to less truck hauling traffic. <br />Analysis <br />Construction is now complete and was performed in compliance with the contract documents. <br />Previous Actions <br />On May 21, 2015, by Resolution No. 2015-110, the City Council awarded a construction <br />contract to Gallagher and Burk, Inc. <br />Applicable General Plan Policies <br />This action is consistent with Streets and Highways Goal No. 16 of the General Plan and <br />Action Item 16.03: Regularly maintain City streets and traffic control devices to ensure that <br />streets operate safely and efficiently. <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />An encroachment permit from the California Department of Transportation was obtained for <br />the work to replace ramps and paving at the southern end of Dabner Street at the intersection <br />of Davis Street (Caltrans Highway 61). <br />Environmental Review <br />This project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per <br />Section 15301(c) - Existing Facilities. A CEQA Categorical Exemption for this project was <br />filed with Alameda County on December 16, 2013. <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />On May 7, 2015, this project was posted on the City’s website and advertised in the Daily <br />Review as well as three other newspapers, whose circulation reflects the diversity of San <br />Leandro. Notification of this bid opportunity was also sent to local Builders’ Exchanges as <br />well as to contractors who registered with the City to be informed of bidding opportunities. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />A summary of the contract with Gallagher and Burk, Inc. is as follows: <br />Original Contract: $1,012,665.00 <br />Change Orders: $0 <br />Total Contract Amount: $1,012,665.00 <br />There were no change orders on this project; the final total contract amount is based on the <br />final quantities for unit price bid items per the original bid. <br />Page 2 City of San Leandro Printed on 3/1/2016
