Briefly describe the project site as it exists before the project, including information on <br /> topography, soil stability,plants and animals, and any cultural, historical or scenic aspects. <br /> Describe any existing structures on the site, and the use of the structures. If necessary, <br /> attach photographs of the site. <br /> The site consists of one parcel currently owned by the Leckner Estate and formerly <br /> occupied by the Safeway Preserves Plant, located at 1111 Marina Boulevard at the <br /> southwest corner of Marina Boulevard and Teagarden Street. The 5.6-acreproperty contains <br /> the main preserve plant building with metal canopy, two connected metal buildings, and a <br /> boiler building. The site is relatively flat, and due to the site's currently developed state,no <br /> plants(other than existing landscaping),animals,or cultural/historical aspects are evident. <br /> 9. Briefly describe the surrounding properties, including information on plants and animals, <br /> any cultural,historical or scenic aspects and the type of land use. <br /> Surrounding uses include the Marina Square retail shopping center to the west across <br /> Teagarden Street;manufacturing adjacent to the south,industrial to the east;and automobile <br /> dealerships,and a service station to the north across Marina Boulevard.
