Police Officers and Police Sergeants who have completed twenty (20) years of continuous <br />service with the City of San Leandro shall receive three percent (3%) of current base pay. <br /> Police Officers and Police Sergeants who have completed twenty-five (25) years of continuous <br />service with the City of San Leandro shall receive four percent (4%) of current base pay. <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 2014, Police Officers and Police Sergeants who have completed twenty (20) <br />years of continuous service with the City of San Leandro shall receive four percent (4%) of current base pay. <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 2014, Police Officers and Police Sergeants who have completed twenty-five <br />(25) years of continuous service with the City of San Leandro shall receive five percent (5%) of <br />current base pay. <br />Section 12. Uniform Allowance <br />The uniform allowance shall be $1,300. Effective July 1, 2017, the uniform allowance with increase to $1,600. Uniform allowance payments shall be made in a separate check during the month of July. <br /> For the period of this Memorandum of Understanding, a Police Officer regularly assigned to <br />motorcycle duties shall receive at the beginning of the assignment two (2) sets of motorcycle <br />pants, a leather jacket, boots, a helmet plus any other necessary safety equipment. <br /> Section 13. Holidays In lieu of observing the following holidays, employees shall receive holiday-in-lieu pay in the <br />amount of seven percent (7%) of the employee’s base pay: New Year's Day; third Monday in January (Martin Luther King's birthday); Lincoln's Birthday; third Monday in February (Washington's Birthday); last Monday in May (Memorial Day); Independence Day; Labor Day; <br />Admission Day; November 11 (Veterans Day); Thanksgiving Day; the day after Thanksgiving <br />Day; Christmas, and every day proclaimed a City Holiday by the Mayor. Employees working a <br />non-shift schedule who observe the City holiday must use accrued leaves (i.e. vacation, comp time). Employees wishing to take the holiday off must also use accrued leaves. At his/her discretion, the Police Chief may require that specified holidays must be taken off. <br /> Holiday-in-lieu pay shall be paid in equal amounts in each pay period. <br /> <br />Each employee represented by the Association shall also be entitled to one floating holiday, <br />which shall be scheduled at time mutually convenient to the employee and the Police Chief. The <br />floating holiday must be taken during each calendar year and may not be carried over to another calendar year or converted to pay. <br /> Any remaining R time not utilized during the 2017 year will be exhausted according to existing practice. . <br />
