The work was inspected and complied with the contract documents <br />and City standards. <br />ADA compliant curb ramps were installed under a separate contract along streets that <br />received cape seal treatment. <br />Previous Actions <br />·On June 20, 2016 by Resolution No. 2016-077, the City Council awarded a contract for <br />construction of the work to American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Co., Inc.; <br />appropriated $750,000.00 from the Measure B Fund; and appropriated $50,000.00 <br />from General Fund-Economic Uncertainty Fund reserves to be reimbursed from the <br />California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) <br />Applicable General Plan Policies <br />This action is consistent with Streets and Highways Goal No. 16 of the General Plan and <br />Action Item 16.03: Regularly maintain City streets and traffic control devices to ensure that <br />streets operate safely and efficiently. <br />Environmental Review <br />This project is categorically exempt from the California Environment Quality Act (CEQA) per <br />section 15301(c). The Notice of Exemption was filed with the Alameda County Recorder on <br />March 25, 2016. <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />·The Notice to Bidders was published in the Daily Review and also in the South County <br />Post, Visión Hispana, and the World Journal. <br />·Notices were issued to fifteen builders’ exchanges and construction data firms as well <br />as a list of contractors that have asked to be notified of bidding opportunities via email <br />about the advertisement of the subject project. <br />·The project is described on the Engineering and Transportation Department website. <br />·Prior to construction, staff notified residents residing on the streets included in the <br />project and project schedule. The contractor also provided English, Spanish and <br />Chinese notifications to properties adjacent to the work via door hangers immediately <br />before the work started. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />The total project cost was $1,775,000.00, which included design, construction management, <br />inspection, curb ramp upgrades and construction. <br />A summary of the construction contract with American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Co., <br />Inc. is listed below: <br />Page 2 City of San Leandro Printed on 12/21/2016
