City of San Leandro Meeting Date: March 20, 2017 Resolution - Council Agenda Section:File Number:17-110 ACTION ITEMS Agenda Number: TO:City Council FROM:Chris Zapata City Manager BY:Jeff Kay Assistant City Manager FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum Finance Director TITLE:RESOLUTION for City Council Approval of Appropriating $1,000,000 from General Fund Economic Uncertainty Reserve to Fund Community Care Initiative Costs beginning in Fiscal Year 2016-17 through 2018-19 WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro is committed to maintaining and enhancing community standards to protect the aesthetic character of the community and provide high-quality services to residents; and WHEREAS, the City Council has directed staff to allocate $1,000,000 in carryover funds from the 2015-16 Fiscal Year toward a two-year Community Care initiative that will strengthen and expand City programs to address code compliance, illegal dumping, graffiti abatement and other related functions; and WHEREAS, in order to initiate the Community Care initiative at the start of the 2017-18 Fiscal Year, the City requires funding of $160,000 in startup costs in the 2016-17 Fiscal Year. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That City Council does hereby approve an appropriation of $1,000,000 to fund the Community Care initiative beginning in 2016-17 through the end of 2018-19 from the General Fund Economic Uncertainty Reserve to the following accounts: 690-16-002-7510 Purchase of Vehicles $77,000 687-18-007-5242 Buildout of Office Space $7,000 010-21-001-5120 Community Care Consulting $10,000 010-41-007-7401 Vehicle Equipment $3,000 010-41-007-5120 Software Setup/Configuration $50,000 010-41-007-6190 Misc.
