Section 1 CLASSES, CATEGORIES, AND SALARIES <br />The following classes and categories of positions are hereby created or continued. <br />Pay for employees represented by the San Leandro Police Officers' Association is effective March 1, 1998. This equity adjustment is designed to br-iHg4he0 <br />° . March 1, 1998, a <br />2.0% across the board wage increase; September 1, 1998, a 2.0% across the board wage increase; March 1, <br />1999, a 4.0% across the board wage increase; and, unless the memorandum of understanding is terminated, <br />March 1, 2000, a 4.5% across the board wage increase. Effective November 16, 1994, as a result of <br />implementation of SB 53, City reports the Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC) as compensation to <br />PERS for retirement purposes. <br />Pay for employees represented by the San Leandro Management Organization shall receive a two percent (2%) <br />salary increase effective July 1, 1995 and July 1, 1996, except for employees in those classes which were <br />previously Y -rated. Those classes are noted by the double Y (YY). Effective July 1, 1994, pay rates shown for <br />management employees shall be increased by five percent (5%) over the monthly salary shown in the Pay Plan. <br />The additional five percent (5%) of pay shall be credited to the employees' accounts in the Deferred Compensation <br />Plan. The increase and deduction are for purposes of reporting said deferred compensation contribution to PERS <br />as compensation for retirement purposes. Effective July 1, 1994, as a result of implementation of SB 53, the City <br />shall report the Employer Paid Member Contribution (EPMC) as compensation to PERS for retirement purposes. <br />Effective August 10, 1996, and continuing for the duration of the special appointment, the Finance Director shall <br />receive a 10% pay differential while serving as the Interim Assistant City Manager/Finance Director. <br />Effective March 1, 1994, as a result of the reorganization of the Public Works Services Department, pay for some <br />incumbent employees will be frozen until the appropriate step of the salary range catches up or the position is <br />vacated. Classes which include individuals who have had specialist pay that will be frozen are shown with two <br />crosses (++) for a 5% specialist pay, and three crosses (+++) for a 7.5% specialist pay. The reorganization <br />hereafter eliminates all specialist pay in the Public Works Services Department. <br />Effective July 1, 1996, pay for employees represented by the San Leandro City Employees Association shall <br />receive a two percent (2%) salary increase, except for employees in those classes which were previously Y -rated. <br />As a result of implementation of the Supplemental Memorandum of Understanding ratified on February 3, 1997, <br />effective July 1, 1996, those classes formerly Y -rated are now eligible for the 2% salary increase and are noted <br />with an asterisk (*). Those classes not receiving the two percent (2%) salary increase effective July 1, 1996 are <br />noted with an encircled x (®). <br />Effective December 31, 1995 the City will amend its contract with the Public Employees Retirement System <br />(PERS) to provide the "2% at 55" retirement option for local miscellaneous members.
