IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN I..,EANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2017-135 <br /> RESOLUTION TO INCREASE CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER AUTHORIZATION <br /> FROM 1.5%, TO 20% (FROM $359,409 TO $479,21.2; AN INCREASE OF $119,803) FOR <br /> A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH DESILVA GATES CONSTRUCTION, L.P. <br /> FOR THE ANNUAL OVERLAY /REHABILITATION 2015-16 PROJECT, PROJECT <br /> NO. 2016.0050.; AND CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL TO APPROPRIATE AN <br /> ADDITIONAL S65,000 FROM THE MEASURE B LOCAL STREETS AND ROADS <br /> FUND BALANCE FOR THE PROJECT (PROVIDES FOR ADDITIONAL CHANGE. <br /> ORDER AUTHORIZATION AND MEASURE B LOCAL STREETS AND ROADS <br /> FUNDING IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT) <br /> WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro did on July 18, 2016 award a construction contract to <br /> DeSilva Gates Construction, L.P. by Resolution No. 2016-095 for the Annual Overlay/Rehabilitation <br /> 201.5-16 Project, Project No. 2016.0050; and. <br /> WHEREAS, in order to expedite the delivery of public projects on schedule and on budget, <br /> provide that subcontractors and workers are paid in a timely fashion, avoid as much as possible <br /> costly delay claims, and insure that the City completes projects and products that are to the City's <br /> highest standards, the City Council finds that providing authorization to negotiate and approve <br /> change orders is in the best interest Of"public health, safety and welfare. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> follows: <br /> That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve cumulative <br /> change orders up to a maximum of$479,212, which is 20% of the original contract amount of <br /> $2,396,060; and <br /> That$65,000.00 of Measure B Local Streets and Roads funds are appropriated for the <br /> project; <br /> Introduced by CoUncilmember Hernandez, and passed and adopted this 2nd day of October, <br /> 2017, by the following vote: <br /> Members of the Council: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Ballew, Cox, Hernandez, Lee, Lopez, "Thomas; Mayor Cutter (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> EXCUSED: None 1 (0) <br /> ATTEST: ' <br /> Tamika.
