L. Carpet Deep Cleaning — Carpet cleaning shall be accomplished by using a Hot Water Extraction (Steam <br /> Cleaning) avotonn, Equipment Sh@U be trunk mount unless otherwise approved by the City's Buildings <br /> Supervisor. Operate the floor wand or self-contained extractor by engaging the solution valve or button and <br /> pulling Or pushing the equipment for approximately 3 to 5 feet (or at 8 comfortable distance). Release the <br /> solution valve before reaching the end ofyour pass toassure that you vacuum upall ofthe solution. Cover the <br /> oonne area two or three times with the solution valve off to remove as much moisture from the carpet as <br /> possible. Overlap approximately 2 inches into the area already cleaned and proceed as described above. In <br /> extremely soiled oreeo, it may be necessary to make two or three additional peSSeS with the solution valve on. <br /> Make several additional passes with the solution valve off to remove as much moisture from the area as <br /> possible, 8|vv8yS being careful not to over-wet the carpet. Place drying fans on wet areas during cleaning and <br /> allow the carpet to dry as thoroughly as possible. <br /> Bonnet cleaning of any facility carpet shall NOT be allowed under this contract. <br />
