City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: December 4, 2017 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:17-681 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Purchase Agreement <br />for the Acquisition of a Fire Ladder Truck from Pierce Manufacturing Inc. for a <br />not-to-exceed price of $1,260,000 <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), serves as the City's fire <br />department, has a need to replace its existing fire apparatus; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, although the City contracts with the ACFD for fire services, all facilities and <br />equipment, including fire trucks, are owned and provided by the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid price by Pierce Manufacturing for the 2017 fire ladder truck is not to <br />exceed $1,260,000, which includes costs for inspection, delivery, and sales tax; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City proposes to purchase the fire truck by piggy-backing on Alameda <br />County’s current bid and benefit from the County's bid process. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San <br />Leandro as follows: <br /> <br />To approve the resolution authorizing acquisition of a fire ladder truck from Pierce Manufacturing <br />and authorizing the City Manager to execute the purchase agreement and other documents <br />necessary to finance the acquisition. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 11/28/2017 <br />187
