File Number: 18-013
Mayor Cutter: What is status of request to ACTC re: landscaping in priority areas?
Discussion regarding priority areas is ongoing.

3. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Sarah Bailey:
Discussion regarding the north/south corridor and the east/west corridor for bicyclists. Bancroft
Avenue has been emphasized by many as an ideal location for protected bike lanes to increase
safety and reduce congestion as it is a route to multiple schools. This area is not on the draft plan
as an area of study. Bicyclists could potentially cycle down MacArthur to Estudillo and then travel
to Williams to reach the Marina.

Installation of protected bike lanes would slow traffic which would impact how enhanced the
crosswalks would need to be to increase pedestrian safety. There is also the consideration of
construction of bulb-outs as those would impede the protected bike lane.

4. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS
January Committee meeting could be postponed if quorum not present.
Council Member Lopez: Recommends more outreach to public about upcoming agenda items for
Facilities & Transportation Committee.

5. ADJOURN
The meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
Page 4 City of San Leandro Printed on 1/30/2018
17
