Scope of Services <br /> San Leandro is widely recognized as a premier community in which to live, work, play and <br />innovate. San Leandro's businesses are responsible for over 60% of the city’s total revenues. <br />Collectively the business community is the economic driver as they invest in developments, open and/or <br />expand businesses, create jobs and provide income that support the vitality of our community. <br /> <br /> The San Leandro Chamber of Commerce believes the business community plays a critical role in <br />continuing to move the local economy forward, supporting the ecosystem of traditional businesses, which <br />includes our manufacturing industry while embracing technology & innovation businesses and other <br />businesses associated with the “new” economy. <br /> <br /> The Chamber of Commerce has multiple initiatives which it focuses on; education and business <br />support programs, advocacy, leadership, and economic development. For many years we have <br />partnered with the City of San Leandro to move the City forward. For fiscal year 2017-2018, we propose <br />the following programs to build on those successes: <br /> <br />___________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />San Leandro by Design -$12,000 <br /> This program is recognized as the think tank of ideas and best practices which has propelled <br />conversations and actions, moving the city towards its fullest potential. We will continue to plan and <br />execute programs around relevant topics and bring diverse interests and stakeholders together. The <br />venues to convene the conversations are outdoor events, forums, and panel discussions. <br /> The programs and topics planned are: a.) industry specific event with curated invitation of local <br />makers, suppliers and developers to connect and do business. b.) discovery bus tour of thriving TODs in <br />the bay area. c.) panel discussion of the TOD plan for the Bayfair area, its connectivity plan and how it <br />will enhance the surrounding businesses. (Event sponsorships - $4000 per event, due 15 days prior to the event date.) (The event calendar of this <br />program is evolving and event dates are not set. The timeline will be within the date of this contract.) <br /> <br />Career Pathways Trust - $15,000** <br /> Create and promote programs to establish viable interest and engagement within the business <br />community and the Career Pathways Trust (Industries include: 1. Biomedical/health, 2. Engineering and <br />advanced manufacturing, 3. Information communication technology, 4. Public service and law.) to <br />facilitate workforce development opportunities. <br /> $7500 National Manufacturing Day, November 2017 - This event is utilized as a regional catalyst <br />to introduce students to the makers industry and educational institutions. The Chamber’s engages and <br />coordinates with local manufacturing companies tours for students to celebrate the manufacturing history <br />of San Leandro. Chabot College then introduces them to education courses available in their areas of <br />interest. The event is marketed to the schools and the business community. <br /> $3500 Career Expo Day, March 2018 – Expo is coordinated to expose local high school students <br />to companies with in San Leandro. Over 40 business, from traditional to new modern companies in <br />advanced manufacturing, are invited and attend this expo to share their knowledge and expertise in <br />guiding students to plan for their future careers. <br /> $4000 Summer Internship Program, July 2018 - This program includes a formal interview day, an <br />expansion of the cyclic internship, and a video to highlight and promote the program and the employers. <br /> <br />(**Support of this program would be retroactive to the start of the fiscal year, July 1, 2017, upon acceptance of this contract.) <br /> <br /> <br />Business Support Services - $14,500** <br /> Coordinate forums, roundtable discussions and presentations offering expertise that can benefit <br />businesses, create vision for the future, and collaborate around common issues for small to medium sized <br />businesses. <br /> $4500 (1500 per quarter) - Meet our Manufacturer Meetings are small intimate conversations and <br />tours inviting the mayor and city council members to join us in getting to know our industrial businesses. <br />The meetings will be ongoing 2 per quarter scheduling. The Chamber will work in conjunction with the <br />1177
