Replace the Rolled Curbs along Manor Boulevard: The rolled curbs along <br />Manor Street should be replaced with traditional vertical curbs to inhibit <br />the practice of parking on the sidewalk. When replacing the rolled curbs, <br />the sidewalks should be widened to create more room for pedestrians and <br />provide space for landscaping, if possible. ideally, the sidewalks would be <br />a minimum of 5-feet with a 3-to 4-foot landscaped buffer between the <br />sidewalk and the street. <br />B. Create More Pedestrian Crosswalks on Manor Boulevard: In this <br />residential neighborhood, crosswalks should be provided every 250-350 <br />feet Further analysis of Manor Boulevard will need to be performed to <br />determine potential crosswalk locations. <br />C. Improve Pedestrian Facilities and Accessibility on Manor Boulevard: Gaps <br />in the sidewalk along Manor Boulevard should be filled to create a strong <br />network and improve accessibility. On the north side of Manor Boulevard, <br />there is a gap in the sidewalk in front of Hope Lutheran Church. <br />D. Improve the Pedestrian Crossings at the Intersection of Farnsworth <br />Street and Manor Boulevard: Located in the middle of the Manor <br />Neighborhood, this intersection is in the middle of four-corners of retail <br />uses in addition to multiple bus routes running along Farnsworth Street. <br />To increase pedestrian visibility and safety at this intersection, three <br />parking spaces should be removed from each approach to allow for curb <br />extensions. Additionally, the crosswalks, currently marked as transverse <br />crosswalks, should be upgraded to high visibility crosswalks (continental <br />or ladder crosswalks). <br />E. Improve the Pedestrian Crossings at Manor Boulevard and Inverness <br />Street: A stop-controlled T-intersection with inverness Street, the Manor <br />crossing is currently marked with a high visibility ladder crosswalk.
