192 ~ CiTY OF SAN LEANDRO BiCYCLE & PEDESTRiAN MASTER PLAN <br />discusses transportation-related improvements that would best suit each <br />workplace environment. <br />Downtown San Leandro TOD Strategy (2007) <br />The Downtown San Leandro TOD Strategy is a set of guidelines for establishing <br />a transit-oriented redevelopment district in the vicinity of Downtown San <br />Leandro and the Downtown San Leandro BART Station. The primary goals of <br />the plan are to increase transit ridership and enhance Downtown San Leandro. <br />The plan emphasizes non-automotive transportation as a primary means of <br />circulation in the downtown area and details numerous strategies for improving <br />walking and cycling conditions, including a downtown bike-friendly zone. <br />Downtown San Leandro Design Guidelines and <br />Principles (2007) <br />Downtown San Leandro’s Design Guidelines and Principles presents a <br />collection of urban design concepts, building façade treatments, and <br />streetscape improvements intended to make Downtown San Leandro a more <br />inviting, pedestrian-oriented commercial district. The guidelines are intended <br />to govern retrofits of existing buildings as well as new development. <br />San Leandro BART Station Access Plan (2002) <br />This plan lays out existing conditions about how people accessed the San <br />Leandro BART station and provides recommendation on how to improve <br />access which includes: streetscape improvements and improved wayfinding <br />and bike facilities. <br />MacArthur Boulevard Streetscape Study (2001) <br />This document developed a streetscape plan for the commercial corridor on <br />MacArthur Blvd extending from the City of Oakland border for approximately <br />Local Plans <br />San Leandro 2035 General Plan (2016) <br />The General Plan is the guiding policy document for all current and future <br />(2035) City land use and development actions. its Land use, transportation, <br />open space, parks and conservation, historic preservation and community <br />design sections contain goals, policies, and action items to manage existing <br />bicycle and pedestrian facilities and steer future projects to improve walking <br />and cycling conditions. <br />City of San Leandro Bicycle and Pedestrian Master <br />Plan (2010) <br />This document provides an update of the 2010 Bicycle Master Plan. it includes a <br />recommended bikeway network, discussion of safety and education programs, <br />key pedestrian improvement locations, and prioritization methodology for <br />bikeway and pedestrian projects. <br />San Leandro Complete Streets Policy (2013) <br />The Complete Streets Policy outlines the vision that the streets should be <br />designed and operated to be safe and accessible for all transportation users <br />whether they are pedestrian, bicyclists, transit riders, or vehicular motorists <br />regardless of age or ability. <br />San Leandro Next Generation Workplace Districts <br />(2013) <br />The Next Generation Workplace Districts provides information about how <br />the City envisions its changing employment base; moving away from heavy <br />industrial uses and increasing office, particularly high tech jobs.
