Summary <br />Convert existing rail road right of way adjacent to BART tracks into a linear Park. <br />Description <br />Purchase the Oakland subdivision of the Union Pacific Rail Road which is located adjacent to the BART tracks in <br />San Leandro and construct a linear park with landscaping, lighting, irrigation, walking and bicycling paths. This <br />project is a portion of the East Bay Greenway project that is led by the Alameda County Transportation Commission. <br />This is project 27-1 of the 2010 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. <br />Justification or Benefit of Project <br />This project increases park land within San Leandro and makes traveling by foot or bicycle easier.
