Summary <br />Constructs drainage improvements on Juana Avenue and Joaquin Street between Bancroft Avenue and San Jose <br />Street. <br />Description <br />Preparation of contract documents, competitive bidding, and construction of the following work on the City’s drainage <br />infrastructure: Extension of the storm drain system on Joaquin Avenue (from Bancroft Ave. to San Jose St.) and <br />Juana Avenue (from Bancroft Ave. to midblock between San Jose St. and San Rafael St.) to minimize flooding along <br />gutters. The extension of the storm drain system will require reconstruction of valley gutters, curb and gutter, and <br />trench restoration. The subject project was rated as a High Priority in the North Area Storm Drainage Study, <br />prepared by McGill/Martin/Self, Inc. <br />Justification or Benefit of Project <br />The project will ensure efficient drainage and protection of properties and businesses. The project will also ensure the <br />safety of the motoring public by reducing the potential for hydroplaning, which could result in accidents and <br />consequently impact lives and properties.
