The improved signal includes a new <br />video detection system to better regulate traffic flows and an accessible pedestrian signal to help <br />visually impaired individuals safely cross the street. The project also included new curb ramps that <br />meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. A vital component of the pedestrian <br />travel way, curb ramps provide access between sidewalks and street crossings to wheelchair <br />users and others regardless of physical ability. <br />Analysis <br />Construction is complete. The work was inspected and found in compliance with the contract <br />documents and City standards. <br />This project was funded with a Federal grant and therefore was exempt from compliance with the <br />City’s local business preference policy and the Community Workforce Agreement’s requirements. <br />Current Agency Policies <br />·Maintain and enhance San Leandro’s infrastructure <br />Previous Actions <br />·On July 17, 2017, by Resolution No. 2017-111, the City Council awarded a $404,267 <br />construction contract to W.
