Broadband is crucial for San Leandro’s <br />healthcare providers as they begin to leverage electronic medical records and other <br />important capabilities of telehealth and the electronic exchange of health care information. <br />These and other healthcare applications used today require high performance broadband <br />capabilities. <br /> <br />There are 8 primary hospitals and/or medical facilities that serve the residents of the <br />City of San Leandro including: <br /> <br />Kaiser Permanente – San Leandro Medical Center (2500 Merced Street). The facility <br />includes a 275,000-square-foot medical office (with space for 116 primary-care and <br />specialty-care providers), as well as a 437,000-square-foot hospital with 216 licensed <br />beds, a 24-hour Emergency Department with 40 emergency treatment bays, 10 operating <br />rooms, a labor and delivery department and a neonatal intensive care unit. <br /> <br />San Leandro Hospital (13855 E. 14th Street) – This is an Alameda County facility <br />providing inpatient and outpatient services, including basic emergency services. It is <br />currently undergoing as $26.8 million renovation to meet current state seismic <br />requirements, as well as add 28 acute rehab beds, administrative offices, and <br />occupational/physical therapy treatment areas. Renovations are expected to be complete <br />in April 2019. <br /> <br />Fairmont Hospital / Alameda County Medical Center (15400 Foothill Blvd.) - Fairmont <br />Hospital is an Acute Rehabilitation Center treating severe injuries such as stroke, brain <br />and multiple-trauma. They provide inpatient and outpatient services. Fairmont also <br />provides a hospital-based Skilled Nursing Facility for long-term care services. This is in <br />unincorporated Alameda County. <br /> <br />Kindred Hospital (2800 Benedict Drive) – Kindred Hospital is a 99-bed transitional care <br />hospital, and also offers a 24-hour clinical care, and a 10-bed ICU. This is in <br />unincorporated Alameda County. <br /> <br />San Leandro Surgery Center (15035 E. 14th Street) – The San Leandro Surgery Center <br />is part of the Sutter Health Network of Care. The facility offers most out-patient surgery <br />services, but also has limited overnight beds. <br /> <br />Epic Care (13851 E. 14th Street) – Epic Care San Leandro is part of the Epic Care <br />network (Bay Area) and offers surgery, endocrinology, infectious disease, internal <br />medicine, primary care and urology services.
