City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: January 22, 2019 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:18-642 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve a Consulting <br />Services Agreement with TJKM Transportation Consultants for the Design of the <br />East 14th Street/144th Avenue and East 14th Street/Joaquin Avenue Signal <br />Projects in the Amount of $72,612 and Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate <br />and Execute Individual Contract Amendments up to 10% ($7,261) and <br />Cumulative Amendments up to a Maximum of 25% ($18,153) <br />WHEREAS, the City was awarded 2016-17 Highway Safety Improvement Program <br />(HSIP) grant funds to install a High-intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) signal at the East 14th <br />Street at 144th Avenue intersection and a Scramble Pedestrian Signal Phase to the existing <br />signal at the East 14th Street and Joaquin Avenue intersection; and <br />WHEREAS, proposals were sought from consultants who specialize in design of traffic <br />signals; and <br />WHEREAS, after reviewing proposals from four consultants, staff recommends that TJKM <br />Transportation Consultants should be retained for design services for these traffic signals in the <br />amount of $72,612; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate <br />and approve Individual Contract Amendments up to 10% ($7,261) and Cumulative Amendments <br />up to Maximum of 25% ($18,153); and <br />WHEREAS, a Consulting Services Agreement for TJKM Transportation Consultants, a <br />copy of which is attached, is presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 1/17/2019
