DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />2.A. 19-073 Consideration of the Installation of Decorative Crosswalks at the Parrott <br />/Washington Intersection <br />Public Works Director Debbie Pollart provided an update on the installation of a decorative <br />crosswalk at the intersection of Parrott Street/Washington Avenue. <br />Committee Requests/Direction to Staff: <br />Council Member Deborah Cox would like the installation replicated in other areas if possible. <br />The Committee would like to coordinate the ribbon cutting celebration for this decorative <br />crosswalk with the opening of the Downtown San Leandro Farmer’s Market on March 27, 2019, if <br />possible given construction and weather constraints. <br /> <br />2.B.19-023 Alameda County Transportation Commission’s Development of the 2020 <br />Countywide Transportation Plan Update <br />Principal Engineer Michael Stella provided an update on the development of Alameda County <br />Transportation Commission’s 2020 Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP) Update, including <br />both funded and unfunded City of San Leandro projects. <br />Committee Requests/Direction to Staff: <br />Mayor Cutter is concerned about utility underground work with PG&E as a result of PG&E <br />bankruptcy proceedings. Staff will look into whether current PG&E status will impact <br />undergrounding projects. <br />Committee would like to review opportunities to embellish the BART aerial structure columns to <br />address concerns about security and lighting related to the eventual construction of the East Bay <br />Greenway including access to BART. <br />Mayor Cutter would like to look for opportunities to help with funding for the railroad grade <br />separation. <br />Vice Mayor Lopez would like review plans regarding Bay Trail improvements when discussing <br />bicycle and pedestrian funding in the vicinity of the boat harbor. <br />Mayor Cutter would like to discuss with Caltrans specific times when weekend closure of I-580 <br />on- and off-ramps from MacArthur Blvd. would allow for volunteer trash pick-up. <br />Council Member Cox would like the committee to look into a San Leandro resident permit <br />regarding parking for a proposed MacArthur Blvd. Park & Ride lot. <br />Page 2 City of San Leandro Printed on 3/26/2019
