CITY COUNCIL GOALS SUPPORTED BY DEPARTMENT GOALS/OBJECTIVES <br />City Council 2019-2021 Goal B: <br />Advance projects and programs promoting sustainable economic <br />development, including transforming San Leandro into a center for <br />innovation <br />Department Goals and Objectives *: <br />Continue to prioritize implementation of the Downtown and Bayfair Area Transit <br />Oriented Development Strategies, to encourage new investment and development <br />consistent with the City’s adopted vision while working to meet our goals for <br />creation of new housing. <br />Prioritize the Shoreline Development to achieve entitlements and a <br />groundbreaking during the upcoming two-year budget period. <br />Support implementation of the Fiber Optic Master Plan and Smart City Strategy, <br />including a focus on enhanced digital inclusion efforts. <br />2019-2021 Funded Services: <br />Regulate and control design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy <br />locations <br />Maintenance of buildings and structures within the City through permit issuance <br />and inspection <br />Continue marketing, business outreach and business assistance <br />Continue advanced planning and land use activities <br />Maintain the downtown garage to support the community and local business <br />needs <br />*Please refer to departmental sections for detailed goals and objectives. <br />17 <br />39
