CITY COUNCIL GOALS SUPPORTED BY DEPARTMENT GOALS/OBJECTIVES <br /> <br /> <br />City Council 2019-2021 Goal E: <br />Support and implement programs, activities and strengthen communication that <br />enhances the quality of life and wellness, celebrates the arts and diversity and <br />promotes civic pride <br /> <br />Department Goals and Objectives *: <br /> Continue efforts to enhance the environmental sustainability of the community with <br />projects such as Go Green SL and an updated Climate Action Plan <br /> Implement the Public Art Master Plan and identify new opportunities for the creation of <br />public art throughout the community <br /> Support implementation of the top priorities identified in the Human Services Gap <br />Analysis: severe mental health issues, food insecurity, domestic violence, and <br />homelessness <br /> Promote an increased sense of community through public events and partnerships with <br />community organizations <br /> Continue work with the food security network in San Leandro to reduce hunger and <br />poverty <br /> <br />2019-2021 Funded Services: <br /> Recreation classes, camps, extended care programs, special events, trips, sports, <br />aquatics, fitness, cultural arts, personal enrichment, and specialty training <br /> Marina and Senior Community Centers, parks, swimming pools, tennis/basketball courts, <br />baseball/soccer fields <br /> Main public library and three branches <br /> Bookmark Café, Casa Peralta, History Museum and Art Gallery <br /> City tree program <br /> Maintain San Leandro Dog Park and improve park facilities <br /> Expand, support and train Volunteer program. <br /> San Leandro Reads and Paws to Read programs <br /> Multi-cultural and educational programs <br /> Citizen Police Academy and Crime Free Business program <br /> Airport Noise Insulation Program <br /> Neighborhood beautification <br /> Historic preservation <br /> Increased support for Human Services programs. <br />* Please refer to departmental sections for detailed goals and objectives. <br />20 <br />42
