City of San Leandro Meeting Date: June 17, 2019 Resolution - Council Agenda Section:File Number:19-334 CONSENT CALENDAR Agenda Number: TO:City Council FROM:Jeff Kay City Manager BY:City Council FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Authorize the City Manager to Execute an Amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement with Townsend Public Affairs for State Legislative Advocacy Services, to Extend the Term of the Agreement through June 30, 2020 at the Same Rate, in an Amount Not to Exceed $60,000 Annually WHEREAS on February 18, 2014, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a one-year agreement for $60,000 between the City of San Leandro and Townsend Public Affairs (TPA), for the provision of state level advocacy services; and WHEREAS on February 17, 2015, February 16, 2016, February 21, 2017, and June 18, 2018, based on TPA’s satisfactory performance, the City Council directed the City Manager to extend that agreement at the same rate; and WHEREAS, since the last contract extension in June 2018, Townsend Public Affairs has provided the City Council and the City’s administration with excellent service representing the City of San Leandro’s interests at the State level; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to extend the term of its existing agreement with Townsend Public Affairs through June 30, 2020 at the same rate, in an amount not to exceed $60,000; and WHERAS, a corresponding appropriation for this proposed agreement is already incorporated into the proposed Fiscal Year 2019-2021 budget; and WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement.
