<br /> <br />Consulting Services Agreement between City of San Leandro and Last revised [06/21/2019] <br />Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for E.14th St (north) Pedestrian Lighting Project Exhibit A – Page 1 of 4 <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Project Description <br />The City of San Leandro proposes lighting upgrades to improve the pedestrian experience along a section <br />of E. 14th Street in the north area of the City. The project area is a length of approximately 0.3 miles, <br />between Durant Ave and Georgia Way. The City desires to make this segment more pedestrian friendly <br />with improved pedestrian level lighting. This segment also coincides with AC Transit’s Bus Rapid Transit <br />(BRT) Project, which is nearing completion. E. 14th Street is a State highway and therefore Caltrans <br />review and approval of improvements is required. <br /> <br />The original street lighting consisted of high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamps mounted on 25’ high poles. In <br />2017, the luminaire heads were upgraded and replaced with energy efficient LED lamps. The existing <br />electrical service provides 3-phases of 100Amps. The LED luminaries operate at 110v. <br /> <br />In 2016, the City’s BART-Downtown Pedestrian Interface Project, installed “Visco steel tapered fluted poles <br />with dual level Lumec RN20 luminaires” along San Leandro Boulevard. It is desirable to use the same or <br />similar type of fixtures on this project to avoid increasing inventory of parts and knowledge for maintenance <br />purposes. <br /> <br />Scope of Services <br />Consultant shall coordinate meetings with all involved City staff including those from the Public Works <br />maintenance and Engineering & Transportation <br /> <br />Consultant shall review and evaluate existing conditions, develop a photometric plan to determine existing <br />components to remain and re-use and where improvements/enhancements will be required, prepare bid- <br />ready construction documents (plans, technical specifications and estimated costs), and coordinate <br />completion of a Caltrans Encroachment Permit. The City will prepare the front-end specifications. <br /> <br />Consultant shall prepare color renderings of the project for presentation to the stakeholders. <br /> <br />Task 1 – Project Management/Administration <br />a. One (1) Kick-off meeting with the City staff to review the project objectives and scope. <br />b. Provide input to assure delivery of the project on schedule and within budget <br />c. Coordinate with and manage sub-consultants <br />d. Maintain project files <br />e. Prepare monthly invoices and progress reports <br />f. Up to eleven (11) monthly invoices and progress reports <br />g. Up to eleven (11) monthly conference calls for project updates <br /> <br />Task 2 – Existing Conditions Analysis <br />a. Conduct planimetric survey as base map and to reference existing conditions <br />b. Acquire utility underground (& overhead) facility records <br />c. Review BRT lighting systems <br />d. One (1) field review to evaluate existing electrical service and its sufficiency for new improvements <br />78
