July 3, 2019Facilities & Transportation <br />Committee <br />Minutes <br />Santos According to Title 1 Chapter 10 of the San Leandro <br />Administrative Code <br />Admin Code Chapter 1 - Section 10 <br />List - Structures Named After Notables <br />Photos of Sites <br />Attachments: <br />Assistant City Manager Liz Warmerdam provided an update for discussion and <br />possible action to recognize former Mayor Tony Santos. <br /> <br />Committee Requests/Direction to Staff: <br />Councilmember Cox commented about revisiting the item and possibly look at <br />renaming Grover Cleveland Park. <br />Mayor Cutter was open to the suggestion of renaming the park but suggested <br />to also include a plaque to provide historical background and commemorate <br />the contribution of the neighborhood. <br />Vice Mayor Lopez would like to have the park renamed in recognition of <br />Mayor Santos and would be ok recognizing the neighborhood and their story. <br />2.C.19-385 Staff’s Review of Regulations Regarding Shared Active Transportation <br />and E-scooter Activity Within the City and the Public Right-of-Way <br />ScootersAttachments: <br />Director of Engineering & Transportation Keith Cooke provided an overview on <br />E-Scooters, similar shared network vehicles and shared active transportation. <br />He briefly reviewed current regulations at the Federal, State and Local levels. <br /> <br />Committee Requests/Direction to Staff: <br />The Committee would like to review at a later time regulations for the <br />public-right-away when technology has evolved and improved. <br />Mayor Cutter mentioned that the City’s bike lanes could be improved to <br />accommodate personal transportation devices as options become available in <br />the future. <br />2.D.19-386 Staff Update on Project Development Projects <br />City Engineer Nick Thom provided a staff update on Project Development <br />Projects and specifically Farrelly Pool. <br /> <br />Committee Requests/Direction to Staff: <br />Mayor Cutter commented about completing the excavation and demolition <br />before school begins due to noise of construction for the Farrelly pool during <br />the school year. <br />Vice Mayor Lopez referenced reviewing options on the bids made on Farrelly <br />Pool before giving a recommendation back to the committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Cutter proposed the City reject all bids and proceed with a rebid on the <br />Farrelly Pool project.
