City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: November 18, 2019 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:19-552 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />BY:Debbie Pollart <br />Public Works Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Declare Twenty-Five <br />(25) Vehicles, Twelve (12) Pieces of Equipment, and Other Miscellaneous Items <br />as Surplus and Authorizing the Sale Thereof at Public Auction (approves the <br />public auction of said surplus vehicles and equipment) <br />WHEREAS, Section 1-6-500 of the San Leandro Municipal Code authorizes the City’s <br />Purchasing Agent to sell equipment which has become unsuitable or unnecessary for the City’s <br />purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, twenty-five (25) vehicles, twelve (12) pieces of equipment, and other <br />miscellaneous items were identified as no longer useful to City operations and therefore should <br />be declared surplus and sold at auction; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Unified School District was contacted and it has no interest <br />in purchasing any of the surplus vehicles or equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, proceeds from the sale of the vehicles and equipment will be returned to the <br />Equipment Maintenance Fund. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro RESOLVES as follows: <br />Following public notice as may be required by law and in accordance with Section 1-6-500 <br />of the San Leandro Municipal Code, the declaration of surplus and authorization of the sale of <br />twenty-five (25) vehicles, twelve (12) pieces of equipment, and other miscellaneous items at <br />public auction by U.S. Auctions is scheduled for a date to be determined in January 2020. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 11/13/2019 <br />62
