City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: February 18, 2020 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:20-034 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.C. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />BY:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Liz Warmerdam <br />Interim Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for a City of San Leandro City Council Resolution Approving the San <br />Leandro Police Management Association (SLPMA) Memorandum of <br />Understanding 2020-2022 <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve a resolution approving the Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) between the City of San Leandro and the San Leandro Police <br />Management Association (SLPMA) for the period covering January 1, 2020 through December <br />31, 2022. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The San Leandro Police Management Association (SLPMA) Memorandum of Understanding <br />(MOU) expired on December 31, 2019. The SLPMA represents six police lieutenants and two <br />police captains. The City and SLPMA representatives met and conferred in good faith over the <br />terms and conditions of employment and successfully reached a tentative agreement. <br />Analysis <br />The tentative agreement was accepted by the SLPMA membership and is being presented to the <br />City Council for its approval. The following is a summary of the key provisions from the tentative <br />agreement. <br />Term <br />Three-year term for the period January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022. <br />Compensation <br />SLPMA employees will receive the following adjustments to base salary: <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 2/12/2020 <br />22
