<br /> 47 <br /> <br />Sign, Directional. An on-premises incidental sign designed to guide or direct pedestrian or <br />vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />Sign, Directly Illuminated. A sign, which is illuminated by means of light that travels directly <br />from its source to the viewer’s eye. <br /> <br />Sign, Flag. See “Sign, Freestanding.” <br /> <br />Sign, Flashing. An illuminated sign, which exhibits changing light or color effect by blinking <br />or any other such means, so as to provide a non-constant illumination. <br /> <br />Sign, Freestanding. A sign erected with a freestanding frame or support, mast or pole and <br />not attached to any building. This includes “ground signs,” “detached signs,” “flag signs,” <br />“pole signs,” and “monument signs.” <br /> <br />Sign, Ground. See “Sign, Freestanding.” <br /> <br />Sign, Incidental. A small sign intended primarily for the convenience of the public, pertain- <br />ing to goods, products, services, or facilities, which are available on the premises where the <br />sign occurs. <br /> <br />Sign, Indirectly Illuminated. A sign, which is illuminated by means only of light cast upon <br />an opaque surface from a concealed source. <br /> <br />Sign, Interior-illuminated. A sign illuminated by a non-visible light source located within <br />the sign. <br /> <br />Sign, Monument. A freestanding sign with a solid base with approximately the same length <br />and width dimension on the sign. <br /> <br />Sign, Moving. Any sign or device that has any visible moving part, visible revolving part, or <br />visible mechanical movement. <br /> <br />Sign, Nameplate. A sign designating: (1) the name of a building; (2) the address of prop- <br />erty; (3) the name of an occupant; or (4) the profession of an occupant. <br /> <br />Sign, Nonconforming. A sign that does not conform to the provisions of this Code. <br /> <br />Sign, Off-Site Advertising. Any sign, which advertises goods, products, services, or facil- <br />ities not necessarily sold on the premises on which the sign is located. These signs are also <br />known as off-site signs, billboards, and poster panels. <br /> <br />Sign, Pedestrian Advertising Panel.
