Sign, Banner. A temporary sign composed of lightweight material either enclosed or not <br />enclosed in a rigid frame. <br />Sign, Changeable Copy. A sign of which copy is changed manually or electrically. <br />Sign, Construction. A temporary sign identifying the persons, firms, or businesses directly <br />connected with a construction or development project. <br />Sign, Directional. An on -premises incidental sign designed to guide or direct pedestrian or <br />vehicular traffic. <br />Sign, Directly Illuminated. A sign, which is illuminated by means of light that travels directly <br />from its source to the viewer's eye. <br />Sign, Flag. See "Sign, Freestanding." <br />Sign, Flashing. An illuminated sign, which exhibits changing light or color effect by blinking <br />or any other such means, so as to provide a non -constant illumination. <br />Sign, Freestanding. A sign erected with a freestanding frame or support, mast or pole and <br />not attached to any building. This includes "ground signs," "flag signs," "pole signs," and <br />"monument signs." <br />Sign, Ground. See "Sign, Freestanding." <br />Sign, Incidental. A small sign intended primarily for the convenience of the public, pertain- <br />ing to goods, products, services, or facilities, which are available on the premises where the <br />sign occurs. <br />Sign, Indirectly Illuminated. A sign, which is illuminated by means only of light cast upon <br />an opaque surface from a concealed source. <br />Sign, Interior -illuminated. A sign illuminated by a non-visible light source located within <br />the sign. <br />Sign, Monument. A freestanding sign with a solid base with approximately the same length <br />and width dimension on the sign. <br />Sign, Moving. Any sign or device that has any visible moving part, visible revolving part, or <br />visible mechanical movement. <br />Sign, Nameplate.
