A line within a lot parallel to a corresponding lot line, which is the boundary <br />of any specified front, side or rear yard, or the boundary of any public right-of-way (whether <br />acquired in fee, easement, established as a future right-of-way line, or otherwise) or a line <br />otherwise established to govern the location of buildings, structures, or uses. <br />Sign. A visual communications device used to convey a message to its viewers. A sign shall <br />mean and include every advertising message, announcement, declaration, insignia, surface <br />or space erected or maintained for identification, advertisement or promotion of the interests <br />of any person, entity, product or service. This shall include any sign located inside the store <br />that is reasonably visible from the street. <br />Sign, Abandoned. A sign on a site or a structure which becomes vacant for a period of <br />three months or more; a sign erected for a previous occupant or business unrelated to the <br />present occupant or business; a sign which pertains to a date, event or purpose, which no <br />longer exists; structural supports to which no sign is attached. <br />Sign, Accessory. A sign which indicates the name of the property, the name or trademark <br />of the person in possession and control of the property, or the business conducted, services <br />rendered, goods produced, distributed or sold, entertainment offered or event to occur upon <br />the property upon which the sign is installed. <br />Sign, Animated. Any sign which is designed to give a message through a sequence of <br />progressive changes of parts or lights or degree of lighting, including, but not limited to <br />reader board signs. <br />Sign Area. The area of each individual sign surface upon, against, or through which the <br />message is displayed or illustrated.
