Sign, Wall. Any sign posted or painted or suspended from or otherwise affixed to the wall <br />of any building or structure in an essentially flat position, or with the exposed face of the <br />sign in a plane approximately parallel to the plane of such wall. Any sign suspended from <br />and placed approximately parallel to the front of a canopy, porch or similar covering struc- <br />ture shall be deemed to be a wall sign. <br />Sign, Wind. Flags, banners, pennants, or other similar devices, which consist of any mate- <br />rial made in any shape that are fastened together in such manner as to move by wind pres- <br />sure. <br />Sign, Window. A sign painted or constructed of paper or other lightweight material and <br />affixed to the interior or exterior side of a window or glass area on a building. <br />Single -Family Residential. Buildings containing one dwelling unit and up to one accessory <br />dwelling unit and one junior accessory dwelling unit located on a single lot. This classifica- <br />tion includes mobile home and factory -built housing. <br />Single Housekeeping Unit. An individual or two or more persons living together in a dwell- <br />ing unit, and in which responsibilities for expenses, housekeeping, cooking, and other <br />household maintenance chores are shared among the non -transient occupants. The defini- <br />tion of a "Single Housekeeping Unit" includes a "Domestic Violence Safe House," but ex- <br />cludes "Residential Congregate Care Facilities" and "Group Housing" use classifications <br />(e.g., assisted living facilities). A single housekeeping unit is allowed to occupy any legal <br />dwelling unit subject to the requirements of Section 2.04.236 Maximum Dwelling Unit Oc- <br />cupancy (i.e. occupancy by more than 10 adults requires a zoning permit). <br />Single Ownership. Holding record title, possession under a contract to purchase, or pos- <br />session under a lease, by a person, firm, corporation, or partnership, individually, jointly, in <br />common, or in any other manner where the property is or will be under unitary or unified <br />control. <br />Site. A lot, or group of contiguous lots not divided by an alley, street, or other right-of-way <br />that is proposed for development in accord with the provisions of this Code, and is in a <br />single ownership or has multiple owners, all of which join in an application for development. <br />Site Coverage. See "Coverage, Lot or Site." <br />Small Scale Hazardous Waste Center. A center for the collection, short-term storage, <br />transfer, or limited processing of hazardous waste from households, small businesses or <br />other small-scale generators. Facilities with waste streams small enough to be exempt from <br />manifest requirements as described in California Health and Safety Code Section 25160. <br />Wastes from any given generator must not exceed a total volume of five gallons or a total <br />weight of 50 pounds.
