May 6, 2020Facilities & Transportation <br />Committee <br />Minutes <br />3.C.20-181 Staff Update on Project & Land Development Projects <br />a. Councilmember Lopez recommended accelerating the Manor Park <br />competition pool project since the facility is already closed due to health order <br />currently in place. <br />b. Mayor Cutter indicated that the council would need to look at the budget <br />closely and to prioritize project funds. <br />c. Councilmember Cox also mentioned budget concerns but noted that an <br />economic downturn can result in favorable bids. <br />d. Councilmember Lopez suggested looking at the schedule for CIP projects <br />and moving bond funded projects forward to take advantage of potential <br />favorable bidding environments. <br />3.D.20-182 Discussion Regarding Future Agenda Items <br />FutureAgendaItemsAttachments: <br />a. Engineering & Transportation Director Keith Cooke recommends having AC <br />Transit return to the next Facilities and Transportation Committee meeting to <br />provide BRT project updates and have Engineering & Transportation provide <br />updates on CIP projects. <br />b. Mayor Cutter commented that AC Transit is looking to provide free service <br />to help shift commuters to transit options. <br />c. Mayor Cutter would like to consider more protected bicycle lanes as the <br />committee reviews road repairs projects. <br />d. Council Member Cox would like the committee to be provided an update <br />on ALCO Metals on a future agenda. <br />COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS4. <br />City Manager Jeff Kay recommended that the committee consider reviewing <br />and exploring funding options or advance payments on services. <br />ADJOURN5. <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:22 PM. <br />Page 4City of San Leandro <br />39
