Early
morning application shall be used when possible to avoid
contamination from drift. The applicator shall monitor forecast
weather conditions to avoid malting application prior to
inclement weather to eliminate potential runoff of treated areas.
Irrigation water applied after treatment shall be reduced to
eliminate runoff. When water is required to increase pesticide
efficiency, it shall be applied only in quantities of which each area
is capable of receiving without excessive runoff.
1.3.2 Handling of Pesticides: Care shall be taken in transferring and
mixing pesticides to prevent contaminating areas outside the
target area. Application methods shall be used which ensure that
materials are confined to the target area. Spray tanks containing
leftover materials shall not be drained on the site to prevent
contamination. Disposal of pesticides and tank rinsing matezials
shall be within the guidelines established in the California Food
and Agricultural Code, or EPA regulations or applicable law
whichever is more stringent.
Exhibit E — Maintenance Standards June 1, 2020
City of San Leandro and American Golf Corporation Page 3 of 45
