March 19, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />No report <br />Other Agencies within the City <br />• Chamber of Commerce <br />• Faith Based <br />• Davis Street <br />2.F. <br />Chamber of Commerce, set up a COVID-19 page on the Chamber website to provide <br />updates from different agencies and community partners. Working with San Leandro <br />Eats and social media to maintain a list of open restaurants. Creating a survey to see <br />who has been affected, would like to expand outreach as well. The Small Business <br />Association (SBA) will possibly open up loans with different and more lenient criteria. <br />Safeway is hiring for in-store staff and delivery and local corner stores like 7-11 are still <br />open. <br />Creekside Community Church, working on providing online services and a text service <br />to connect people for errands. Would like to know what message to provide people so <br />as to be aligned with the other agencies and to know where the need is and where to <br />give. <br />Interfaith Homeless Network/April Showers, continued operation of April Showers in the <br />parking lot and social room at Creekside Church socially distant with only 4 of the 8 <br />showers and providing lunches to go. Warming shelters are still open. Working with <br />the San Leandro Community Food Pantry with contactless bags of food Thursday <br />nights. <br />First United Methodist Church, the State has asked that their Kids Connect Preschool <br />remain open as a drop-in for First Responders. On the Dolores side of the building <br />there is Homeless and Business Future. All Northern California and Nevada Methodist <br />Churches have been asked to close during the Shelter-In-Place and worship and work <br />remotely. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center, all non-essential services have been <br />suspended, the primary care clinic is open and limited to acute or sick and critical <br />patients, adding urgent patients next week. Hours have been reduced due to limited <br />staffing. There are test kits since we are federally funded. The Food bank is open daily <br />still with modified food distribution to minimize contact, many coming in are seniors. <br />Working with the School District to provide meals and care for children at Jefferson <br />and Lakeside Housing. Food bank donations have diminished per the Mayor, the City <br />will be looking at ways to assist. Davis Street has partnered with Amazon Link for <br />canned protein and personal care items, and diapers. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS3. <br />Public Comment was received from Mr. Kenneth W.
