Estimate the number <br />and type of families <br />that will benefit from <br />the proposed <br />activities <br />The Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro serves approximately 900 low- <br />income youth ages 6-14 years of age. Once renovation and the locker <br />room is completed the organization will return to this level of service. <br />Location Description Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro, 401 Marina Blvd, San Leandro, <br />CA 94577 <br />Planned Activities Funding will be used to renovate the locker room and shower space for <br />the pool which is serviced and maintained by San Leandro Department <br />of Human Services and Recreation. <br />10 Project Name San Leandro Homeless Shelter Repairs and ADA Accessibility Upgrades <br />Target Area City-Wide <br />Goals Supported Community Development Needs Goals <br />Needs Addressed Community Development Needs - Public Facilities <br />Funding CDBG: $143,725 <br />Description The San Leandro Shelter is a 30-bed homeless shelter. While housed at <br />San Leandro Shelter, residents receive a range of services including <br />meals, on-site case management, housing search assistance, individual <br />therapy, life skills coaching, domestic violence and parenting support <br />groups, evening childrenÿ¢ÿ¿ÿ¿s activities and access to health <br />care services. <br />Target Date 6/30/2020 <br />Estimate the number <br />and type of families <br />that will benefit from <br />the proposed <br />activities <br />100 women and children clients annually. <br />Location Description San Leandro Shelter, 501 Davis Street, San Leandro CA <br />Planned Activities The capital improvement project will improve the program’s <br />accessibility for residents with mobility impairments, to enhance safety <br />of the facility, to protect and extend the life of the structure and to <br />increase the quality of life of the clients of the San Leandro Shelter. This <br />will be accomplished by replacing the exterior ramp, stairs and <br />entryway landing; rebuilding four bathroom shower stalls and <br />subfloors, including ADA shower stall; and replacing the floors in the <br />common area. <br />50
