March 26, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />capacity. <br />American Red Cross will not open shelters but will support them. People are <br />encouraged to give blood. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />3.E. <br />San Leandro Unified School District extended the closure until May 1. Food <br />distribution program at 3 sites on M, W, F, from 11-12. County Environmental Health <br />Department conducted a site visit that was disruptive. Still providing educational <br />services and using a variety of online learning platforms and will be distributing <br />Chromebooks/laptops. Continuing to provide emotional and mental health support <br />through Care Solace and planning on deep cleaning of schools a week before they <br />open. <br />San Lorenzo Unified School District will be closed until May 1. Providing mobile food <br />bank once a week at Edendale. Food distribution is at two sites, M-F, providing <br />between 600 & 700 meals each day and plan to expand. Will be distributing <br />Chromebooks and teachers are doing outreach. <br />Utilities3.F. <br />PG&E working on plans for the upcoming fire season and Power Safety Power Shutoff <br />(PSPS). Working with cities to identify community resource centers (CRCs) sites. <br />Information about bill forgiveness or deferment is on the PG&E website. <br />Other Agencies within the City <br />• Chamber of Commerce <br />• Faith Based Organizations <br />Discussion Points: <br />• Provide updated information about what organization is doing, what issues and <br />any needs <br />• Testing Availability and Protocols <br />• Communications gaps and how to address them <br />• Volunteering Opportunities that the City can share <br />3.G. <br />Chamber of Commerce held a webinar for small businesses with information on <br />multiple topics. Common Network is still installing equipment and offering free internet <br />to families in the school systems. Restaurants are open for take out and doing limited <br />menus. San Leandro Improvement will be out doing clean up in the downtown areas. <br />Creekside Community will be holding a Red Cross blood drive on April 4. <br />Praises of Zion reported that after school program is being doing via webinar and <br />providing food to seniors in partnership with the Food Bank. <br />First United Methodist San Leandro is following local protocols to remain closed. <br />St. James Lutheran is providing worship services via Zoom and discontinued monthly <br />Page 4City of San Leandro <br />93
