<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Parking Structure. An enclosed or semi-enclosed area containing a ceiling or roof, used primarily for <br />the short-term or temporary parking of motor vehicles, constructed either above or below grade, <br />freestanding, or as part of a commercial or residential building. <br /> <br />Pawn Shop. A business establishment engaged in the buying and selling of new or secondhand <br />merchandise and offering loans secured by merchandise. <br /> <br />Permitted. Allowed without a requirement for approval of a use permit, temporary use permit, or <br />other discretionary use approval under this Code. <br /> <br />Pervious Surfaces. Pervious surfaces are those that allow stormwater to infiltrate the underlying soils. <br />Pervious surfaces shall include, but not be limited to, vegetative planting beds, porous asphalt, porous <br />concrete, single-sized aggregate, open-jointed blocks, stone, pavers or brick that are loose-set and <br />without mortar. Pervious surfaces are required to be contained so neither sediment nor the pervious <br />surface discharges off the site. <br /> <br />Pharmacies. Establishments that primarily sell prescription drugs. <br /> <br />Porch. A covered platform, usually having a separate roof, at an entrance to a dwelling, or an open or <br />enclosed gallery or room, which is not heated or cooled, that is attached to the outside of a building. <br /> <br />Pre-Existing. In existence prior to the effective date of this Code. <br /> <br />Processing Facility. A building or enclosed space used for the collection and processing of recyclable <br />materials. Processing means the preparation of material for efficient shipment, or to an end-user’s <br />specifications, by such means as baling, briquetting, compacting, flattening, grinding, crushing, <br />mechanical sorting, shredding, cleaning, and remanufacturing. <br /> <br />A. Light-Processing Facility. Occupies less than 45,000 square feet, all activities are conducted <br />entirely within an enclosed building, and includes equipment for baling, briquetting, crushing, <br />compacting, grinding, shredding and sorting of source-separated recyclable materials, except <br />ferrous metals other than food and beverage containers, and repairing of reusable materials. <br />(See Section 4.04.232 Recycling Facilities, Subsection B Permits Required. <br /> <br />B. Heavy-Processing Facility. Any processing facility other than a light-processing facility. <br /> <br />Project. Any proposal for new or changed use, or for new construction, alteration, or enlargement of <br />any structure that is subject to the provisions of this Code. <br /> <br />Public Safety Facilities. Facilities for public safety and emergency services, including police and fire <br />protection. <br /> <br />Public Storage. Storage in small individual spaces exclusively and directly accessible to a specific <br />tenant and offered on a monthly or other limited basis. This classification includes mini-warehouses. <br />
