June 11, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />Alameda County <br />•Office of Emergency Services <br />•Alameda County Fire Department <br />•Alameda Public Health Department <br />2.B. <br />Alameda County OES was not available <br />Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) the County would be moving to a virtual <br />EOC. The call volume is going back to pre-COVID levels. The supplies are good and <br />staff has been healthy. <br />San Leandro City <br />•San Leandro City Manager <br />•San Leandro Police <br />2.C. <br />City Manager Kay reported that the testing is successful, but at first not running <br />smoothly, due to equipment issues. He thanked all the partners who helped and the <br />City staff, especially Ely Hwang in RHS. The City continues to work with community <br />partners and businesses on how to do curbside and take out dining, including our <br />library. One City department had to be quarantined and worked from home. <br />San Leandro Police reported that there has been a decrease in the numbers of cases <br />and hospitalizations, with 178 in the City. The County has averaged 1700-1800 test <br />daily. All this information is on the County dashboards. The biggest concern is the <br />Latinx numbers. Two new orders requiring masks to be worn outside and social <br />bubbles, took affect this week and the message was sent to the public. There has <br />been a decrease in COVID complaints that the Department is responding to, while <br />trying to keep staff safe. Calls for service are back to pre-COVID levels. <br />Healthcare Services <br />•Hospitals <br />•Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />•Red Cross <br />•SL Elder Care Alliance <br />2.D. <br />Kaiser Hospital reported that they are taking care of the COVID patients that they have <br />and are hoping to have the Berkeley Lab opened soon. More patients are coming in for <br />face to face appointments at the medical offices. <br />San Leandro Hospital reported no changes due to COVID. They are planning to start <br />the return of services that were closed, while continuing testing at the hospital. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center reported that the food program is leveling out at <br />~60-75 bags of food distributed daily. Jefferson opened up a third classroom. The <br />clinic opened up the dental clinic and they have found that if one person in a Latinx <br />family tests positive, the whole family gets sick. <br />Red Cross reported that they continue to refine procedures for sheltering people. <br />Page 3City of San Leandro
