November 5, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />Red Cross reported that they are responding as needed while staying safe from COVID <br />and had been concerned about responding during election night to those impacted by <br />civil unrest. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />2.E. <br />San Leandro Unified reported that the distance learning program is going well, staff and <br />principals are engaging students and making adjustments as needed. Three ASES <br />sites, with 12 students each, are currently open at Jefferson, Monroe and Wilson and <br />hope to open at McKinley, tentatively at the end of November. The food distribution <br />program is consistent at all 7 sites and they are providing an early morning distribution <br />as well as an afternoon distribution. <br />The District is considering a phased reopening in Jan, in order to ensure maintain <br />flexible in anticipation of any changes in the state or county tiers. The District has <br />been reviewing and following all Public Health and County Office of Education <br />guidance and working with labor unions to have full partnership for any in-person <br />instruction, when it is allowed. They are looking at all models available in order to <br />maximize educational opportunities for students, as well adhering to guidelines. <br />Utilities <br />• PG&E <br />• EBCE <br />2.F. <br />No reports, though EBCE did thank first responders. <br />Other Agencies within the City <br />• Chamber of Commerce <br />• Faith Based Organizations <br />• Building Futures with Women and Children <br />2.G. <br />RACES reported that they started to make their communication processes solid during <br />this year and have been having successful monthly check-ins.
