The Library will be presenting at the next City Council <br />meeting about the resources that are available, including learning resources for youth. <br />The Library and Human Services are partnering with other agencies to develop learning <br />pods, where students can access the internet and do school work safely. The City is <br />working with the school district to manage regulations. The City staff continue to <br />balance work and safety, including providing clean air filters at city facilities. <br />San Leandro Police Emergency Services reported that there have been discussions <br />with Red Cross about the TEPs and will be doing outreach to find locations. <br />Discussions about doing a site visit at Kaiser’s flu clinic have occurred, as have <br />discussions with ACPHD about developing a plan for a drive thru clinic and the <br />distribution of at least 200 doses. In conjunction with the Great Shakeout, Oct 15, <br />there will be an EOC workshop, which will virtual. More information will be forthcoming <br />to city staff. The PG&E Community Resource Center (CRC) agreement needs to have <br />a couple tweaks and then it should be signed. This would allow the main library to be <br />used as a CRC. September is National Prep Month and Emergency Services is <br />working with the City PIOs to get messaging out each week on social media and will <br />be accepting the proclamation from the City Council at their next meeting. <br />Alameda County <br />• Office of Emergency Services <br />• Alameda County Fire Department <br />• Alameda Public Health Department <br />2.B. <br />Alameda County OES reported that they are preparing for another heat event over the <br />weekend and have been in contact with all city emergency manager and requested <br />they upload information into the county website about cooling and clean air centers, <br />using Veoci. There are no planned PSPS or CA ISO rolling black out events in the <br />near future, though there is a red flag warning. The SCU Lightening Fire, which was <br />78% contained and expected to be 100% contained by the weekend, though there is <br />concern about the heat. During the fire, temporary evacuation points (TEP) and hotels <br />were set up for evacuees, in cooperation with the Red Cross. The messaging to the <br />public through WEA, AC Alert, and social media, was successful. <br />The county currently has enough PPE. There are 18,445 cases, with 257 deaths. The <br />governor laid out a new blue print for recovery based on a color tiered system and the <br />county recently rolled out the new changes. ALCO is in the purple tier due to 9 cases <br />for 100,000 and a 5% positivity rate. Testing is being done at 4,000 daily. Conditions <br />are looking better and orders have been adjusted to expand services to allow for open <br />indoor hair salons and open malls, with precautions and limiting the number of people <br />allowed in. Schools are not allowed in-person classes, but small cohort learning is <br />allowed for those who are at risk. Public Health is working with schools. The Care & <br />Shelter branch is working on food distribution throughout the county and sheltering the <br />unsheltered at 9 hotels. Public Health sent out a press release this week about indoor <br />salons, hair dressers and how to calculate physical distancing within businesses. <br />Information can be found at emergency@acgov.org. <br />For National Preparedness Month, the county, in cooperation with the Center on <br />Disability at the Public Health Institute, Listos/ California for All, and all 14 city EMs <br />did a PSA for TV and YouTube.
