McDaniel <br />Announcements1.B. <br />Members of the Disaster Council introduced themselves and the agencies they <br />represent. <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS2. <br />City of San Leandro response to COVID-19 <br />• San Leandro City Council <br />2.A. <br />Mayor Cutter thanked everybody joining the meeting and reminded everyone that while <br />the meetings may seem tedious, a lot of information is being shared, like information <br />about how the Manor Sign, which is a cool, old sign that is an identity marker for the <br />community, was blown down during the recent wind event. The wind event reminded us <br />what else mother nature can throw at us. There had been some confusion with <br />vaccines because of the one batch of Moderna, but hopefully the new administration <br />will help clarify things. <br />Vice Mayor Aguilar had no comment. <br />Councilmember Ballew mentioned that big wind event did not have much reported <br />damage. The City’s federal lobbyist was asked if the 100 million vaccines could be a <br />reality and there is a push by the federal government to make it happen. During the <br />recent city grant request process, many businesses were found to be in need, so <br />Council voted to allow $400,000 from the reserves to aid more businesses. He <br />suggested that there should be some sort of community healing day, possibly led by <br />the faith-based providers and to include the front-line workers, in order to allow people <br />to move forward. <br />Page 2City of San Leandro <br />29
