Box 942874, MS 74 <br />Sacramento, CA 94274-0001 <br />LOCAL AGENCY: <br />City of San Leandro <br />ADDRESS: <br />835 East 141 Street <br />Effective Date of Contract: December 19, 2015 <br />San Leandro, CA 94577 <br />Effective Date of Amendment 2: Upon Signature by all <br />Phone: <br />(510) 577-3428 <br />Parties <br />Expiration Date after the Amendment: June 19, 2022 <br />WHEREAS: Service Contract 75LX293 dated December 19, 2015, provided $340,875 to reconstruct the south median island, <br />reconstruct sidewalk on all quadrants, install detectable warning tiles (tactile strips) on all sidewalk approaches, install pedestrian <br />channelization fencing, install R8-8 on both approaches at Washington Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad Company's tracks, in <br />the City of San Leandro, CPUC No. OO1D-16.50, Federal DOT No. 749743X; and <br />WHEREAS: During a design phase of project, a site visit identified additional improvements to the crossing. As a result of the <br />additional work, more time was needed to complete design, obtain CPUC approval, acquire right of way and bid award and <br />complete the Project. Amendment No. 1, allowed for additional time to complete the project and adds $343,738, a total of <br />$684,613, to accommodate a scope modification to add a median island for vehicle channelization and two pedestrian ramps to meet <br />current ADA standards; Amendment No. 1 extended the expiration date for Service Contract 75LX293, from December 19, 2018, <br />until December 19, 2020; <br />WHEREAS: The City has requested an eighteen -month time extension to complete construction, due to delays with the right-of- <br />way acquisition (ROW). The Union Pacific Railroad (UPPR) Real Estate and City will need to re-evaluate valuation of the property. <br />Once ROW is vetted, the remaining items are required; licensing agreement, GO88-b approval, rail and signal improvements by <br />UPRR, bidding and award, and roadway contractor will need to be completed before construction. <br />NOW THEREFORE: The expiration date for Service Contract No. 75LX293 is amended and extended from December 19, 2020 to <br />June 19, 2022.
