<br />Non-Professional Services Agreement between July 19, 2021 <br />City of San Leandro and Redwood Painting Company, Inc. Exhibit A Page 5 of 24 <br /> <br />1.03 DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />A. Submerged metal: Steel or iron surfaces below tops of channel or structure <br />walls which will contain water even when above expected water level. <br /> <br />B. Submerged concrete and masonry surfaces: Surfaces which are or will be: <br />1. Underwater. <br />2. In structures which normally contain water. <br />3. Below tops of walls of water containing structures. <br /> <br />C. Exposed surface: Any metal or concrete surface, indoors or outdoors that is <br />exposed to view. <br /> <br />D. Dry film thickness (DFT): Thickness of fully cured coating, measured in mils. <br /> <br />E. Volatile organic compound (VOC): Content of air polluting hydrocarbons in <br />uncured coating product measured in units of grams per liter or pounds per <br />gallon, as determined by EPA Method 24. <br /> <br />F. Ferrous: Cast iron, ductile iron, wrought iron, and all steel alloys except <br />stainless steel. <br /> <br />G. Where SSPC surface preparation standards are specified or implied for <br />ductile iron pipe or fittings, the equivalent NAPF surface preparation standard <br />shall be substituted for the SSPC standard. <br /> <br />1.04 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />A. Coating materials shall be especially adapted for use in wastewater treatment <br />plants. <br /> <br />B. Coating materials used in contact with potable water supply systems shall be <br />certified to NSF 61. <br /> <br />1.05 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Submit for approval prior to construction <br />B. Shop Drawings: <br />1. Schedule of proposed coating materials. <br />2. Schedule of surfaces to be coated with each coating material. <br />C. Product Data: Include description of physical properties of coatings including <br />solids content and ingredient analysis, VOC content, temperature resistance, <br />typical exposures and limitations, and manufacturer's standard color chips: <br />1.
