Remove spatter and droppings after completion of coating. <br /> <br />L. When multiple coats of same material are specified, tint prime coat and <br />intermediate coats with suitable pigment to distinguish each coat. <br /> <br />M. Dust coatings between coats. Lightly sand and dust surfaces to receive high <br />gloss finishes, unless instructed otherwise by coating manufacturer. <br /> <br />N. Apply coating by brush, roller, trowel, or spray, unless particular method of <br />application is required by coating manufacturer's instructions or these <br />Specifications. <br /> <br />O. Plural component application: Drums shall be premixed each day. All gauges <br />shall be working order prior to the start of application. Ratio checks shall be <br />completed prior to each application. A spray sample shall be sprayed on plastic <br />sheeting to insure set time is complete prior to each application. Hardness testing <br />shall be preformed after each application. <br /> <br />P. Spray application: <br />1. Stripe coat edges, welds, nuts, bolts, difficult to reach areas by brush before <br />beginning spray application, as necessary, to ensure specified coating <br />thickness along edges. <br />2. When using spray application, apply coating to thickness not greater than that <br />recommended in coating manufacturer's instructions for spray application. <br />3. Use airless spray method, unless air spray method is required by coating <br />manufacturer's instruction or these Specifications. <br />4. Conduct spray coating under controlled conditions. Protect adjacent <br />construction and property from coating mist, fumes, or overspray. <br /> <br />Q. Drying and recoating: <br />1. Provide fans, heating devices, or other means recommended by coating <br />manufacturer to prevent formation of condensate or dew on surface of <br />substrate, coating between coats and within curing time following application <br />of last coat. <br />2. For submerged service the CONTRACTOR shall provide a letter to the <br />ENGINEER that the lining system is fully cured and ready to be placed into <br />service. <br />3. Limit drying time to that required by these Specifications or coating <br />manufacturer's instructions. <br />4. Do not allow excessive drying time or exposure which may impair bond <br />between coats. <br />5. Recoat epoxies within time limits recommended by coating manufacturer. <br />6.
