July 15, 2021Disaster Council Minutes <br />Healthcare Services <br />• Hospitals <br />• Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />• Red Cross <br />• SL Elder Care Alliance <br />2.D. <br />Kaiser Hospital reported that they are concerned with cases and hospitalizations rising. <br />People are being asked to be vigilant, wash hands and wear masks, especially the <br />unvaccinated. Members and non-member can receive vaccinations at Kaiser San <br />Leandro. Kaiser is working with the county health equity team to schedule <br />pop-ups.They are also preparing for flu season and will be providing flu shots. <br />San Leandro Hospital reported that with the high temperatures, staff were notified <br />about how to protect themselves, their families, and animals and there were <br />contingency measures in place, in case of an interruption. The hospital did feel the <br />earthquake near San Lorenzo, which did not cause any damage, but it was a reminder <br />for the need to be prepared. As of July 12, the Health System has provided 21,384 <br />vaccinations to patients, 4,756 (72% ) staff are fully vaccinated and 4,897 (74%) have <br />received at least 1 dose. There has been a total of 377 (5.84%) cases in staff, as of <br />July 9. Mr. James Jackson has been appointed the permanent CEO for the Alameda <br />County Health System. <br />Red Cross reported that they are moving into a normal sheltering set up, with <br />congregate sheltering being used. They are looking forward to providing shelter <br />management training to the cities, because appreciate city staff working in shelters. <br />Red Cross continues to working the local fires. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center was not available for a report. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />2.E. <br />San Leandro Unified reported that summer school was held June 14 - July 23, with <br />about ~1800 students that participating and things went well. The food distribution <br />continuing but there has been a decline, which is a good sign that people are starting <br />to get back on their feet. The District had 4 pop up vaccine clinics for students 12 and <br />over and their families and they were well received. The District is planning for <br />2021-2022 school year, with hope to return to normal operations, with full in person <br />learning and hybrid options. They are waiting on guidelines from the County Office of <br />Education. negations with teachers’ association and other bargaining units will be <br />starting soon. <br />San Lorenzo Unified was not available for a report. <br />Utilities <br />• PG&E <br />• EBCE <br />• EBMUD <br />2.F. <br />PG&E had no report.
