<br />Sign, Incidental. A small sign intended primarily for the convenience of the public, pertaining to goods,
<br />products, services, or facilities, which are available on the premises where the sign occurs.
<br />
<br />Sign, Indirectly Illuminated. A sign, which is illuminated by means only of light cast upon an opaque
<br />surface from a concealed source.
<br />
<br />Sign, Interior-illuminated. A sign illuminated by a non-visible light source located within the sign.
<br />
<br />Sign, Monument. A freestanding sign with a solid base with approximately the same length and width
<br />dimension on the sign.
<br />
<br />Sign, Moving. Any sign or device that has any visible moving part, visible revolving part, or visible
<br />mechanical movement.
<br />
<br />Sign, Nameplate. A sign designating: (1) the name of a building; (2) the address of property; (3) the
<br />name of an occupant; or (4) the profession of an occupant.
<br />
<br />Sign, Nonconforming. A sign that does not conform to the provisions of this Code.
<br />
<br />Sign, Off-Site Advertising. Any sign, which advertises goods, products, services, or facilities not
<br />necessarily sold on the premises on which the sign is located. These signs are also known as off-site
<br />signs, billboards, and poster panels.
<br />
<br />Sign, Pedestrian Advertising Panel. A freestanding, fixed or movable structure incorporating two (2)
<br />or more replaceable panels for non-accessory advertising copy, located and designed primarily for
<br />viewing by pedestrians and not substantially legible from a public street.

<br />Sign, Pole. See “Sign, Freestanding.”

<br />Sign, Political. A sign designed for the purpose of soliciting support of, or opposition to, a candidate or
<br />proposition at a public election.
<br />
<br />Sign, Portable. Any movable sign not permanently attached to the ground or a building, including, but
<br />not limited to, stick signs, A-frame signs, or pennant signs.
<br />
<br />Sign, Projecting. A sign which is attached to and projects from the structure or building face and is not
<br />parallel to the structure to which it is attached.
<br />
<br />Sign, Public Service Information. Any sign intended primarily to promote items of general interest to
<br />the community such as time, temperature, date, atmospheric conditions, news or traffic control,
<br />including warning signs.
<br />
<br />Sign, Real Estate. Any temporary sign pertaining to the sale, exchange, lease, or rental of land or
<br />buildings.
<br />
<br />Sign, Roof. Any sign erected upon, against, or directly above a roof or above the parapet of a building.
<br />
<br />Sign, Rotating. Any sign or portion thereof, which physically revolves about an axis.
